Cheers in Boston to Copperplate
Friday, April 13th, 2012 | Alcohol, Food, Restaurants, Travel | No Comments
Cheers in Boston was thought to be made famous by a TV sitcom. We know after closer inspection it’s because they use Copperplate Gothic Bold in their signage!
Nothing says gift shop this way better than Copperplate Gothic Bold. Amazingly when we were in there, everyone knew our name.
Copperplate in Scottland!!!
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 | Alcohol, Travel | No Comments
We recently toured the great country of Scotland and was pleasantly surprised at the ubiquitous use of Copperplate! The majority of our time was in Edinburgh (lovely city as they say) and we seemed to be delighted at every turn with the unmistakeable and strikingly handsome Copperplate Gothic Bold.
In this particular sighting we found CGB at the “Scotch Whiskey Tasting Experience” hiding in the downstairs bar area depicting the harvesting of the barley. In this particular sighting we can see how the Scott’s use CGB slightly differently than we do here in the states.
In this case A smaller font size can be used to illustrate this very important part of the whiskey making process because the font itself is so strong and so clear. It was also apparent as the evening progressed the symbiotic relationship between scotch and Copperplate, the more Scotch we drank, the more CGB we were able to see.
So thank you Scotland for your thistles, kilts and use of CGB. As William Wallace a famous Scotsman once said in the movie Braveheart, “Tell them…that Copperplate…is the only font… for MEEEE!”
Jagermeister Spices it up With Copperplate!
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 | Alcohol | No Comments
Let’s get bold people, even the folks at Jagermeister are getting into the wonderful world of Copperplate Gothic Bold! Look at that alcohol escaping the icy fist of a monster and the chains of everyday life. Redbull may give you wings, Jagermeister gives you a hangover, and Copperplate Gothic Bold gives you life.
Apparently Jagermeister is now a club too and has upcoming bands and events. Not quite sure what that’s all about, then again it never really matters what the ad is about when Copperplate is involved, we just assume greatness.
So thank you Jager, we will release the beast and to the folks who live in the state of New Jersey, drink your Jagerbombs and get excited for some new episodes of Jersey Shore.
