The Crying Bald Eagle
Thursday, August 14th, 2008 | Courtesy Redesigns

Only a crying bald eagle holding broken freedom with a DDT enhanced third leg can reflect how truly awful sad this is
Today someone did something that was so truly horrible and vile that there was only one graphic that came to mind that could express our deep and exquisite sorrow…a crying eagle.
Instead of getting angry at the arbitrary and capricious nature of this persons request we created an original symbol to express our disdain, a three legged crying bald eagle holding the broken remanents of freedom.
So whenever someone does something to you or a loved one, slap em with a crying bald eagle. Nothing is more sad or depressing than watching an eagle cry. The first time I saw one cry in real life … well … it was one of the most gut wrenching experiences of my entire life. Now you too can bring this level of sorrow to someone else when they wrong you.
Copperplate Gothic Bold brings home the seriousness of the graphic and helps to elevate an already powerful image to a new level. Without Copperplate this would just be another boring image, but with Copperplate Gothic Bold, it transforms it into a true symbol of sadness.

The author of ilovecopperplategothicbold.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with.
Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night, just like the eagle on this page.
